Steve M has reminded me that this 'circus tent' was the The Magic Mirrors. It is assembled from panels and can be moved from site to site. Inside, there was a wooden deck, booths, and wonderful decorations.

I'm not in this one. The structure behind everyone is a sort of portable wooden circus tent. I can't recall the proper name for it, but it had tables and seating inside, with lavish decorations.

A few names! Bottom, right, in baseball cap is Nadine. The tall fellow in back is Ulrich (founder of Les Rivages Maudits, writing as Nievel), bottom left is Serpent Blanc, the one with the turquoise scarf is Anabelle (writing as Elise), and the one who has a trenchcoat but in not Robin Hobb is Cecile.

A very candid shot of some reader friends. Many of them are 'residents' of Les Rivages Maudit, a French-language Robin Hobb site founded by Ulrich (the tall fellow in the back.)

This is a daylight view. The cats were all plastic models of the very traditional Puss in Boots character. They are in white and the primary colors to remind us of how the original books were originally printed, with each color layered on over the previous one to get the desired color. I recommend the museum in Epinal as a wonderful place to learn about this.

This was my first glimpse of the cats, from a car as we came back from dinner. We turned a corner and there they were! It was completely astonishing. I brought home a blue one. I'll never forget this first glimpse.

I feel so pampered! I stayed in this lovely room, so warm and snug, while many attendees from Les Rivages Maudit were camping in the rain to attend Imaginales!
